Phildelphia Inquirer February 2, 1996 This article contains 136 words. A "Peace Table" designed by the late George Nakashima and destined to travel to India will be dedicated at the Nakashima Studio in New Hope on Sunday at 3 p.m. The table is the third of a series, the first of which resides at St. John the Divine Cathedral in New York. Nakashima envisioned the establishment of "peace altars" as a tangible symbol on each continent of the world. The heart-shaped Black Walnut Peace Table, II by II feet, will be sent to Auroville, India, to serve as the focal point for a meeting room near the spherical meditation chamber Matrimandir by French architect Roger Anger. The dedication at the studio will include a concert by singer/song-writers Terra Nova and a wine and cheese reception, with a requested donation of $25. Reservations are recommended.
